Pre-show presentation: The Body Electric: The Art of Movement and Robotics w/ Amenda Tate, Artist, Producer/Director, Technologist

A short art documentary exploring labor, empathy, and  humanity in the tech-saturated era of pandemic. This performative  experimental film was conceived by artist Amenda Tate, creator of the  Manibus Project which sees the creation of an artistic depiction of the  dynamics of movement through a robotic painting. The concept is brought  to life through the collaborative efforts of an immensely talented cast  and crew of Iowans - all creative innovators in their own rights.

In 2022, for the fifth consecutive year, FilmScene is thrilled to join  theaters across the country to present Science on Screen®, with a  six-film program, starting in March, exploring the climate crisis, women  in science, dance and robotics, food science in cannabis, and more.  Each event includes dialogue with individuals connected to the film  and/or with experts in the field, to enhance our understanding of  science in cinema. Science on Screen®  is an initiative of the Coolidge  Corner Theatre, with major support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
